We have been working with Carolyn Acton since 2008, in which time we have become her preferred supplier for dance floors, DJs, lighting etc.

During the last 3 years we have worked with Carolyn on a number of large corporate events, wedding receptions and parties. Carolyn’s largest client that we provide equipment for (and have done for the last 3 years) is Howden Joinery. Myself and Carolyn have been involved with 10 events for this client, all of which have been large events (180 people minimum) with no expense spared by the client. The largest being an event at the National Railway Museum in York for 800 guests with only 2 hours to get the venue ready!

I have found Carolyn to be exceptionally well organised as well as having a real passion for getting events correct. She has adapted well to changing circumstances on events and taken control to ensure that all of the suppliers are aware what and where they should be.

From the moment I met Carolyn I was reassured with her calm and capable demeanour and warm personality. We held our wedding at our home in the shared grounds of a country estate. Having spent months planning and organising the day it was important for me to have someone who understood how key pulling together all the suppliers and details together on the day was. Carolyn understood my requirements immediately from the two planning meetings and on the day, I was able to relax and sit in the house being pampered with hair and makeup knowing she was in control outside. She dealt with the supplier issues we had seamlessly, sorted out the people I had inadvertently missed off the seating plan with tact and diplomacy and dealt with any guest issues. She was always on hand for a shoe change – (I had multiple!) and nothing was too much trouble from checking the wines replenishment to condition of the portaloos to securing more umbrellas. Our wedding was 100 day guests, plus 30 evening with a fully staffed creche with 40 children – so not a small undertaking. In summary – I would highly recommend Carolyn’s services and hope you have as fun and enjoyable day as we did! ”

Dear Carolyn, I am sorry to have taken a day or two to write to you but it has taken me a day or two to recover enough to get on my computer!!  A measure of a great party – methinks!!
I just want to thank you so much for everything you did for me in organising the party.
Jen is not easily overwhelmed but on Saturday night she was as close to speechless as I have ever seen her – the secret that she was having a party was obviously broken ages before but she was truly stunned, even shocked by everything we had laid on.  Whilst not very happy with her milestone age, the party has without doubt softened the blow!!  She has not stopped going on about it ever since.  I think I have got brownie points to last a long time (at least a week!!!).
From the time I first contacted you when I was getting very worried about how to organise this party, you just gave me a huge sense of confidence that not only would the party happen but that it would work really well.  Whilst we broke the budget a bit, your help with negotiating an affordable price was wonderful.  I felt I had someone who was on my side when negotiating price.  The lighting was great and as you said initially, lighting more than anything can create the right mood – it got it spot on.  I will remember our discussions with Thomas on the food choices and everyone seemed to agree that the choices were inspired.  Of course, the food quality that Thomas produces is outstanding and he is such a nice guy – I will be writing to him separately.  He is a real find!  I will also be writing to the other Thomas, who did produce amazing cocktails and was responsible for quite a few sore heads, I think!!  The singing waiters blew everyone away and I think many just wanted them to go on and on!  They are a real quality act and I am so pleased that I did decide to go with them – I genuinely think they were very good value actually.
I think the only little error I made was about the music system we used after they went. I had been assured by the girls that they had it all organised and they gave me a lovely iPod doc as a Christmas present, which I wanted.  However, it wasn’t nearly powerful enough for a party of that size – a little disappointing but one can’t get everything right!!
I must mention Rachel as well for the ostrich feather arrangements – they were truly amazing and really helped get the right atmosphere as well.  She is lovely and it was good to have a chat with her when she came round on Sunday.
Finally Carolyn, your support actually at the party was hugely appreciated – again you gave me great confidence so that I could (almost) relax and enjoy myself and the guests.  You turned your hand to everything that needed to be done and was particularly glad of your help at the bar.
We have had the most amazing feedback from all our frinds and guests – I don’t think anyone had any idea about the extent of the party although I was hugely impressed about how everyone had entered into the theme.  I though the girls all looked amazing – with Jen being the star of course!

Carolyn helped me organise my daughter’s wedding at Stapleford Park on 4th January 2014.  She became involved once we had chosen the venue and then advised and organised on all aspects of the wedding.  For example she found the florist, the event company to do the lighting and staging, the make-up artist etc.

This was a complicated wedding for more than 150 guests, where we had sole use of Stapleford Park and all guests stayed there or in nearby accommodation.  We could not have done it without her. She was always a delight to deal with, returned calls promptly and sorted out problems without fuss.

On the day before the wedding and on the actual day she worked beyond the call of duty till late into the night and was up early the next morning overseeing the breakfast and the clear up.

We owe her an enormous thank you for making this such a memorable day for the young couple and taking the strain out of the organisation.  I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

Thank you so much for your warm welcome email and face book comment.

The pleasure really was all ours. Meeting you all prior to the wedding was lovely but on Julie and Gemma’s wedding day Peter had an absolute blast and so enjoyed being a part of their special occasion. The weather was brilliant too and everything seemed perfect. Peter returned to our business unit after the wedding full of the joys of spring saying he had had such a good time, what a fabulous wedding he had been privileged to be a part of and what lovely people to work with.

In ten years of our Classic Car business Peter feels that being involved with Julie and Gemma’s wedding was one of the high spots for him and definitely in his top five of all time favourite weddings. The photographer was great to work with too and hope the photographs he took in the fields whilst on the countryside champagne chauffeur journey worked out well. Peter told me how fabulous Gemma’s dress was and it was quite huge as it took all three of them (Peter, the Photographer and Julie) to help Gemma get over the stile into the field on the country lane which was also good fun.
